Death penalty off the table for double-murderer Nathan Holden
Jurors choose life in prison
Holden was convicted of killing two people and attempting to murder a third
Those chilling words were pegged to admitted killer Nathan Holden in a Wake County courtroom on Friday. Jurors who will decide whether convicted double-murderer Nathan Holden receives the death penalty had just announced their verdict: life in prison.
This was not the outcome Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman was hoping for. Holden was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon. After deliberating for just a few hours, a Wake County jury decided against the death penalty for Nathan Holden.
