Dallas Stars to Face Edmonton Oilers in Conference Final
Hard-fought Series Expected in Battle for West
Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers will square off in the Western Conference Final, which begins Wednesday.
The Dallas Stars have been one of the NHL's hottest teams all season, finishing the regular season with a league-best 52-21-9 record. They have continued to impress in the playoffs, sweeping the Minnesota Wild in the first round and defeating the Colorado Avalanche in six games in the second round.
The Edmonton Oilers, meanwhile, have been a bit of a surprise this season. They finished the regular season with a 49-27-6 record, which was good for second place in the Pacific Division. They have also been impressive in the playoffs, defeating the Los Angeles Kings in seven games in the first round and the Calgary Flames in five games in the second round.
The series is expected to be a close one. The Stars have the home-ice advantage, but the Oilers have been playing well on the road this postseason. Both teams have a lot of offensive firepower, so fans can expect plenty of scoring chances.
Game 1 of the series will be played Wednesday night at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Game 2 will be played Friday night in Dallas, and the series will then shift to Edmonton for Games 3 and 4 on Sunday and Tuesday.
